Established in 2007, Norbury Antiques is an independent antique furniture dealer specialising in traditional

English furniture. The business is owned and run by me, James Stapleton.

My interest in traditional architecture, furniture and design began at an early age. I have always enjoyed

working with my hands, and in 2004 I began an apprenticeship in Handcrafted Furniture. My first

placement was with an antique furniture restorer in Derbyshire, where I developed a lasting appreciation

for antique furniture and the craftsmanship behind it.

During my apprenticeship, I began buying the occasional piece of antique furniture to restore and sell.

What started as a way of developing my skills gradually became a passion for sourcing, restoring and

dealing in antique furniture.

After completing my studies, I established my own workshop and began building a collection of traditional

English furniture with the aim of starting my own business. In 2007, Norbury Antiques was established.

Since then, I have continued to source traditional English antique furniture from auctions, dealers and

private sources throughout the country. I select pieces based on their quality, design, proportions and

character, with a particular appreciation for Georgian, Regency and Victorian furniture.

The collection includes antique mahogany, oak, walnut and rosewood furniture, from chests of drawers,

bureaus and writing tables to dining tables, sideboards, bookcases and occasional tables.

Over the years I have supplied furniture to some of the finest homes in Cheshire, while continuing to build

a constantly changing collection of carefully selected antique furniture for homes throughout the UK.

Terms of sale

 

These items are antique and character marks can be seen due to the age. Items are purchased as seen on the photographs. Whilst we make every endeavour to point out if there is any serious damage, restorations etc. etc. we cannot cover every eventuality so if you have any questions please contact via e-mail before purchase. In the unlikely event you are not happy with your purchase we will gladly issue a refund (excluding carriage costs), the item must be returned within 14 days of purchase in the same condition as it left us.
If you cancel your purchase (within the 14 days) before delivery a full refund will be issued.
If any restoration is completed on request by the purchaser, this work is non refundable. If you ask us to complete any restoration on a piece of furniture that we currently have for sale, that affects the original finish or design (re polishing, adapting to fit into spaces, changing handles, removing the original finish, adding additional fixed shelves, changing locks etc.) then the piece is non refundable after the work is started.
