A good quality Antique Regency rosewood tea or side table, dating from circa 1820, with an attractive figured top, elegant turned pedestal and swept sabre legs.
The table has a beautifully figured rosewood top which opens to extend the table surface, making it both decorative and practical. The top sits above a simple plain frieze and is supported by a circular turned pedestal leading to a quatrefoil base.
The four elegant sabre legs retain their original castors, an appealing original feature which adds to the character of the table.
The table is in very good original condition and has been traditionally and sympathetically cleaned and waxed. This careful approach has maintained the original colour and natural patina of the rosewood rather than over-restoring the piece.
With its elegant Regency proportions and versatile size, it would work particularly well as a tea table, occasional table or side table in a traditional or contemporary interior.
