A very good quality Antique Victorian mahogany circular dining table, dating from circa 1860, with a beautifully figured solid mahogany top, elegant fluted pedestal and original castors.
The table has an impressive solid figured mahogany top, displaying the rich grain and natural character of the timber. Beneath the top is a simple plain frieze, allowing the quality of the mahogany and elegant pedestal to remain the focus.
The table stands on a beautifully shaped and fluted central pedestal, which leads to a traditional tripod base with shaped and outswept legs. The legs retain their original castors, adding both character and practicality.
With a diameter of 136 cm, the generously proportioned circular top provides an excellent dining surface while allowing guests to sit comfortably around the table. The circular form also creates a particularly sociable arrangement for dining and entertaining.
The table is in excellent condition and has been traditionally and sympathetically restored, with care taken to maintain its original colour and natural patina.
A handsome example of Victorian dining furniture, combining good quality mahogany, strong proportions and an elegant pedestal base.
