A good quality early Victorian walnut chiffonier sideboard, dating from circa 1850, with a beautifully figured walnut top and useful enclosed storage.
The figured top sits above a single discreet hidden drawer and a pair of cupboard doors, which open to reveal a single internal shelf. The piece stands on a simple plinth base, giving the chiffonier a clean and practical appearance.
The rich figuring and warm colour of the walnut give this antique sideboard plenty of character, while its compact proportions make it a versatile piece for both traditional and contemporary interiors. It could be used as a sideboard, storage cupboard or cabinet in a dining room, living room, hallway or other living space.
This piece is in good original condition and has been traditionally and sympathetically cleaned and waxed to maintain its original colour and patina.
